The Art of Investing - Seniors, regardless of college or major

The Notre Dame Institute for Global Investing (NDIGI) and the Finance Department are pleased to invite you to apply for The Art of Investing (FIN 40521).

Class Description:

The Art of Investing is an advanced, capstone course aimed at weaving together insights from CEOs, investors, and other leaders from various fields. The course seeks to bring together viewpoints and core teachings from numerous subject areas in a way that is harmonious with the core tenets of investing. The students will come from various backgrounds and majors and be expected to bring their insights to bear on case studies and readings for each class session. An important feature of this course is the willingness to participate in discussions and the ability to manage both detailed and broad discussion topics regarding companies, markets, case studies, and human behavior.

Class Schedule: Thursday mornings 9:30am-12:00pm

Requirements:

  • Students must be seniors
  • Have a solid academic record
  • Demonstrate excellence through leadership roles and other non-academic accomplishments
  • Have an interest in business, economics, and a baseline understanding of financial analysis through internships, courses, or other real world experience

Goals:

  • Understand security analysis from a higher level--how to think about companies and industries more generally from a longer-term perspective
  • Learn from Entrepreneurs, Investors, Teachers, Operators - have them share worldly wisdom
