Mentorship

NDIGI has provided me with several valuable resources that have allowed me to initiate connections and build relationships with individuals that, in time, have become significant mentors throughout my time at and after Notre Dame. This is highly due to the Institute’s programming, which encourages interactions with experienced professionals, instructors, and peers. This creates an environment to ask questions and learn from others. Participating in the VC course gave me the opportunity to develop great relationships with both faculty members and VC investors.  Having the ability to reach out to others who have had similar experiences has allowed me to receive invaluable advice, set expectations and personal goals, and make friends with different individuals of diverse backgrounds along the way.

Valuable Experience

Participating in the Venture Fundamentals course gave me the opportunity to apply the technical skills that I had gained through my education at Notre Dame, while simultaneously helping me develop new skills that are important for professional development. Throughout the competition we received feedback that highlighted our strengths and criticisms that allowed us to make the necessary changes throughout the various rounds and stages. Additionally, being able to exercise academic skills beyond a classroom setting allowed me to consider new perspectives and appreciate the task at hand. Equally exciting was being able to observe how professionals used the same skills to approach the problem or task in a different way to find other solutions. Overall, having the opportunity to participate in VCIC proved to be widely rewarding due to both my skill development and education.
